Live-in or 24-Hour Care Allowing Elderly Adults to “Age in Place” in Their Homes

Caring for an aging loved one is a tremendous responsibility but can present practical and logistical challenges, especially when you have work or family obligations or live far away. Hiring a professional Personal Care can ensure your loved one receives the dedicated attention they need to remain safe and content in their home.

If your loved one’s physical and cognitive functions diminish and their daily needs increase, they may need 24/7 in-home care. While you may consider an assisted living facility or nursing home, you have another option.

Visiting SRK Care at Home offers live-in and 24-hour home care, which can ensure a professional caregiver is available to address your loved one’s needs and provide – day and night. Caregivers can also help with Personal Care, including grooming, bathing, dressing, toileting, meal preparation, and light housekeeping.

24-hour home care
In a 24-hour home care arrangement, two or more caregivers rotate eight-hour shifts to ensure someone is always awake and available day and night to help your loved one when needed at their home.

Why choose 24 hour home care?

If you’re looking for a comprehensive, cost effective alternative to any type of facility, around-the-clock home care is the choice for you. The emotional strain associated with moving away from the familiarity and comfort of home often leads to physical decline, further loss of independence and diminished quality of life.

24-hour care allows your loved one to remain in the home, while ensuring safety and promoting optimal well-being. In addition, our Care Workers provide a much more personalized plan of care tailored to the status, conditions, preferences, hobbies and lifestyle of the individual.

24/7 Home Care Helps…

Calm agitation, helping people who have lost their sense of time and place
Create greater companionship, especially at moments of greatest anxiety
Meet personal and medical needs at night, keeping medications on schedule
Reduce skin infections and chance of urinary tract infections with a 24-hour care regimen
Minimise risk of falls for people who need assistance getting out of bed and around the house.

Scheduling of 24 Hour Home Care

As an individual’s needs evolve, our care team will work with you to increase home care services from 8 to 12 to 24 hours. Even with 24 hours of care in the home, there are different ways in which we can structure support. These include:

One caregiver each day: He/she works a full 16-hour day with breaks, followed by 8 hours in-home sleep

Two caregivers each day: He/she works in 12-hour shifts. The evening caregiver stays awake through the night to monitor health and safety
